Diarrhea in dogs [...]

Is your dog having a problem with diarrhea? Does he have “accidents” while trying to get outside to go to the bathroom? While your dog may not be losing too much sleep over the problem, there is no doubt that you are not happy with the runny mess being made in your house!

Diarrhea in dogs often happen because of eating something rotten from the outside, or even from getting into a chemical inside of the house. There are times when he may have an intestinal virus that could be the cause. Perhaps you suddenly changed his diet which may be a contributing factor to the problem.

Below are several tips in which you can use to effectively help your dog recover from diarrhea:

1. Do not let your dog have a continual feeding of food in the dish.

If you stop putting food in your pet, then he will stop having to use the bathroom. So it is obvious that once you notice your dog has the runs, simply stop feeding him for 24 hours after the onset of diarrhea. This alone could be enough to knock out the problem. However, if after 24 hours have gone by and there is still a problem with your dog’s bowel movement, then contact your vet immediately because something could be seriously wrong.

2. Try feeding your dog bland foods for a while to keep her stomach calm.

When your dog is ready to begin eating again you may want to have a week at feeding bland foods to keep her digestive system calm. Such bland foods may be skinless chicken or cooked white rice. Another ideal food that fits perfectly for the sour stomach is boiled hamburger meat.

3. Remove any dairy products from your dog’s diet.

Because most dogs lack the enzyme “lactase”, they have a very difficult time digesting milk. Lactase is needed to properly digest the sugar in milk.. If you are feeding your dog any type of milk product and she has diarrhea, then completely eradicate milk from her food choices. You will see dramatic improvement within days.

4. Keep your dog’s system flowing with plenty of liquids.

When your dog has diarrhea, his body is depleted of liquids and essential fluids. Be sure to keep your dog’s water bowl full at all times. And like people, dog’s also loose a lot of minerals when their body is depleted of fluids, so it is a good idea to keep a separate bowl filled with Gatorade. Gatorade is an excellent liquid that will help your dog’s body with getting enough of the potassium and sodium that it lost.

Use these sales presentation tips to get your prospect emotionally involved in your product or service and you’ll boost your sales.

Sales Presentation Tip #1 - Practice and Customize Your Presentation

Take time to practice your presentation many times before using it in a real live sales situation. You should know your presentation backwards and forwards, word for word. Never take notes to a sales presentation and referr to or read from them. That is so unprofessional.

Customize your presentation for each individual prospect. One of the worst things you can do is give a presentation that appears to the prospect has been given to every other person you sell to.

Sales Presentation Tip #2 – Build Rapport and Qualify

Make sure you build rapport, and qualified the prospect thoroughly before you dive in to your presentation. People buy from people they like and trust, so spend adequate time on rapport building.

The same goes for qualifying. Make sure you’re clear as to what the prospects problem is before presenting your product or service as the solution. The problems you uncover will determine how you customize your presentation and how your product or service solves their problems.

Sales Presentation Tip #3 - Be Friendly, Enthusiastic and Professional Looking

Remember, people are more likely to buy from a friend than a salesperson. So spend lots of time becoming their friend. Don’t rush into your presentation. Step back and develop a relationship with them. It will pay huge benefits.

One way to show your enthusiasm is to truly believe your product or service is the best thing to solve their problem. So having an understanding of how your product has helped others is critical.

Being professional looking includes many different areas. Your clothes for one. Make sure your wardrobe is up to date and doesn’t include suits you bought in the nineties. Polish your shoes, cut your nails, shave, get an up to date hair style. There are many ways you can look the part of a successful person. People want to buy from winners, so look like a winner.

Also make sure your presentation visuals are up to date and professional looking. Don’t use articles or testimonials that were written years ago. Get some new ones. Use the lastest technology to show prospects you’re on the cutting edge. I guarantee you most of your competitors aren’t.

Sales Presentation Tip #4 - Use Visual Aids

Your company may all ready have visual aids for you to use. Some things to include are media articles about you and your company. Testimonials you’ve received from satisfied clients. Tell stories about how you’ve helped another customer, especially ones that are similar to the current prospect.

Sales Presentation Tip #5 - Get the Prospect Involved

Using handouts is a great way to get a prospect following along with your presentation. You could play a game during the presentation or have them take a test. Ask them opened ended questions such as:

Do you see how easy this is to use?

What are the features you like the best?

How do you think this will benefit you/your company?

Get creative and come up with ways to get the prospect involved. It sets you apart from the competition.

Sales Presentation Tip #6 – Emphasize Customer Service and Long Term Relationships.

The prospect needs to be sure you won’t sell them and then disappear, never to be heard from again. Talk to them about your involvement in the delivery, training and service after the sale. Also let them know you’re their for the long term. That you’ll be there to help with problems and service. After all, you are the one building the relationship. So assure them you will oversee everything.

A winning sales presentation should answer all your prospects questions, get them excited and lead them to the conclusion that your product or service is the only solution to their problems.

Do you know that, in summer, the average American family pays about 40% of their energy bill for air conditioning of the house? But it doesn’t have to be this way, Use these simple tips to help you keep your house cool and significantly reduce your energy bills during the hot months.

1. If you need to cool only one room, don’t use your central air conditioning. Invest in a portable air conditioner, instead. Modern portable units have a very high energy efficiency rating, so it will cool your room effectively and save you a lot.

2. Install mini-blinds or white window shades. Mini-blinds can be very effective and can reduce heat gain from direct sunlight by 40-50 percent. You can also hang bamboo shades or tightly woven screens outside your windows. This will stop up to 80 percent of the sun’s heat from getting through your windows.

3. Keep all windows closed during the day. At night you can open them for ventilation and switch on a fan instead of an air conditioner.

4. If you are using a mini split air conditioner, make sure that the outside compressor is well shaded. However, trees and shrubs shouldn’t be planted right next to it; it needs some room for air flow.

5. It is best to clean your air conditioner filter at least once a month. Dust build-ups can significantly reduce air flow.

6. When buying an air conditioner unit, make sure that it is the right size for your room. A unit that is too small will not cool your room effectively, and an A/C that is too large will consume much more energy than necessary. See recommendations for proper air conditioner sizes for your room.

7. If you use central air conditioning, seal all A/C ducts. Insulate ducts that run through rooms that don’t need cooling, like the basement or the attic.

8. If your air conditioner is old, consider replacing it with a modern high efficiency unit. Older A/C systems have a SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) of only 6 or 7, while the best air conditioners on the market today offer SEER as high as 13. That means that it will consume almost 50% less energy.

9. Cooking, drying cloth or dishwashing generates a lot of heat. Try to delay these activities until the evening, when it gets cooler.

Most people just switch their air conditioners on and set the desired temperature. This will cool your room, of course, but it will cost you, too. Furthermore, excessive energy consumption is not environmentally friendly, so by following our simple advice you could not only save on your bills, but you could also help to reduce pollution in your area.

Purchasing an electric guitar is very exciting and fun. The process can be made more efficient by following several basic guidelines and using several tips provided below.

Are you new to guitars and ready to make your first electric guitar purchase? Are you a seasoned player who owns several guitars and you find yourself adding to your guitar collection? No matter which category you find yourself in, getting the most from your instrument purchase is very important. It is also important to understand the types of electric guitars available.

The choices include:

1. Solid Body Electric Guitars
2. Hollow Body Electric Guitars
3. Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitars
4. Acoustic/Electric Guitars
5. Pedal Steel Guitars
6. Hawaiian Style Lap Guitars

Guitars, and particularly electric guitars are not created equal. There are many brands of electric guitars to choose from. Making the right choice when purchasing a guitar will depend on some basic factors, including:

1. Your particular situation

2. The specific application when using the guitar.

For example, if you are a beginner, there is little reason to consider investing several thousands of dollars into a pro level guitar such as a custom Les Paul or a Paul Reed Smith. Another example regarding a specific application would be if you are a traveling musician.

Traveling guitarists may want to consider a slightly less expensive guitar to take on the road while saving their finest instrument for a studio environment.

Regardless of your situation or the application, the bottom line is there are several factors to consider. Understanding your position as a potential guitar buyer will help you make the right decision and ensure that you make an informed purchase.

Here are 5 tips to help you in choosing the right electric guitar.

Tip 1. Evaluate your level of committment to the instrument and the art of music.

Before you choose your electric guitar be sure you understand the level of committment that you are prepared to invest into the instrument. Electric guitars can be expensive and understanding the level of dedication you plan to invest in the instrument should play a vital role in choosing your guitar.

Tip 2. Identify your particular application for the instrument.

If you are a beginner and just learning to play the instrument, your application will be quite different from an intermediate or advanced guitarist who is adding to their collection. Determine your particular situation and application for the guitar you will purchase. Consider whether or not you will be keeping the instrument at home or frequently traveling with it.

For example, if you plan to keep the instrument at home for recreational use, you may want to consider including a less expensive case for the guitar. Road cases can be costly and will not be neccesary if you do not travel with the guitar.

Tip 3. Identify your budget and include patience regarding your guitar purchase.

Many aspiring guitarists have wandered into the local music store only to be overwhelmed by the vast choices and different price ranges of guitars. As with any purchase, pre-planning and understanding your budget is critical. Prices for electric guitars range from a few hunderd dollars to tens of thousands of dollars.

If you are serious about playing the guitar, selecting your instrument will be one of the most important decisions you make. Be sure to take ample time during this stage of the process. Patience is more than a virtue when selecting your guitar.

Tip 4. Consult a professional to get tips on guitar quality and performance.

It is a good idea to take the time to visit several musical instrument dealers in your area. Retail guitar shops will be more than happy to help you understand what to look for when buying an electric guitar. Get several opinions if you are new to guitars.

Most guitar outlets will have seasoned players on staff who will be happy to impart their experience and wisdom. Ask questions. Find out what you need to consider when selecting an electric guitar. Getting several opinions in this area will shed light on the overall picture and will be very beneficial information when it comes time to buy.

Tip 5. Include additional items and training resources to help you get started playing the guitar.

Once you have made the right guitar purchase, be sure to have additional items on hand that will be vital to the process of learning. You will need an extra set of guitar strings, some extra picks, a tuner and a stand for your guitar. It is also very important to purchase some beginner books that include chord charts, guitar tab and chord progression exercises.

Learning to play the electric guitar is fun and exciting. There are few things in life that will provide the relaxation and feeling of accomplishment you can experience by becoming proficient with guitar chords, guitar tabs and guitar chord progressions. Applying the knowledge you gain from the right learning resources to your favorite style of music is very rewarding.

Carefully select your electric guitar. Be sure to practice to develop skill, musical knowledge and basic music theory concepts. Apply what you learn on a daily basis and you will be amazed at the progress you will make with your new electric guitar.

With the advent of information technology, more and more people are getting the full benefits from distance learning. In fact, people who were not able to finish their college courses due to some unavoidable circumstances can now get their college degree without having to resign or give up their current job.

Distance learning is a new way of acquiring college and even doctorate degrees without having to attend formal schooling. People can get through the subjects needed to get the degree that they want just by getting brochures and learning materials through mail or through electronic methods.

Fully completing a distance learning program, however, is not that easy and requires the same dogged determination and persistence, as with any schooling program. Therefore, for people who would like to earn their degree through distance learning easily and without too much hassle, here are some tips to guide you through:

1. Decide And Assess Yourself

- Distance learning is not for everyone who wishes to avail of its services
- In many cases, it can provide flexibility and ease of obtaining the much-needed degree
- But for some, it could mean boring methods and procedures and wearisome learning
- Ideal for those who can study independently in a self-directed manner
- Good for those who do not like interacting with a professor

2. Check Your Mailbox Daily, Electronic Or Otherwise

Distance learning is a continuous learning process. This means that the learning materials that you will need and your assignments or projects will be sent through mails, electronically or through snail mail.

So it is best if you always check your mailbox every single day or even multiple times per day. There may be instances where missing a single day of checking your mailbox could mean tons of missed projects or work.

3. Flexibility Should Never Be Equaled With Laxness

Getting flexible schedule does not mean that you have to be lax on your studies. Being flexible on your class schedule would mean that it is up to you how or when you will study.

Therefore, in order to succeed and finish your degree as soon as possible, it is best that you organize your schedule, those that concern your work, your family (if any), and your class schedule.

It is just a matter of time management. Keep in mind that it is best if you will always set a regular time for your study. In this way, you will never have to worry about getting all things mixed up.

4. Find A Quiet Place To Study

Because you will be entirely on your own when getting a degree through distance learning, it is best that you find a quiet place to do your homework or review your lessons. In this way, you will be able to ponder on things that needed more attention without having to worry about any distractions.

5. Reading Is Comprehension, Not Memorizing

When you read, it would be better to understand the text and subject matter thoroughly instead of memorizing them. In distance learning, memorization is a useless technique. What matters most in distance learning is that you understand the subject matter thoroughly and that you can easily grasp the meaning of the text given to you.

6. Improve Your Communication Skills

There are people who are having more difficulty in talking to other people through the microphone or the conference call than speaking in public. They contend that not seeing the other person is more difficult to deal with than talking to them face to face. These people insist that they could not see whether the other person is satisfied with the answers or not.

In distance learning, corrections can be made for people who are having difficulty regarding this matter. Just keep in mind to pay attention to the instructions given and to listen attentively.

Try to incorporate some, if not all, of these tips and you will surely finish your degree in a breeze. Just remember that distance learning is not an easy alternative of studying or getting a degree. It is just an option for those who do not have time to go to formal school.

When you have the perfect home picked out and you know this is the home you want, your lender will require you to have an appraisal upon the request to use the home as security for a loan. A real estate appraisal will help in establishing a property’s market value, the sales price it would probably bring the seller, if offered in an open and competitive real estate market.

The reason the lender requires the real estate appraisal is because they want to ensure that the property would sell for at least the amount of money you require for your loan. Simply put, if the lender should ever have to foreclose, they want to ensure they would be able to get their moneys worth. A real estate appraisal is not to be confused with a comparative market analysis (CMA).

Real estate agents commonly use a CMA as a tool to determine a realistic asking price for home sellers. Although, an experienced agent may come extremely close to an appraisal price with the CMA, an real estate appraisal’s report include a lot more detailed information, not to mention the fact that it is the only evaluation report a bank will accept when making the decision of whether or not to loan money.

When having a home appraised for this purpose you should have an appraiser that is an objective third party. The appraiser should have no financial or any other connection with either party involved. If you have never experienced a real estate appraisal before, here are a few things that are included in the report.

There will be many details about the property in question as well as side-by-side comparisons of three different properties like it. There will be an evaluation of the areas overall real estate market. Any issues an appraiser feels can be harmful to the value of the property. Notations about any serious flaws will also be made; these are all coupled with many other items on the detailed appraisal report.

Real estate appraisals come in two different methods for appraising homes. There is the sales comparison method where the market value is estimated by comparing the property to other similar properties that has been sold in the same area. This method uses the similar properties to make several estimates of what they would have sold for if they had the same feature as the property in question.

Then there is the cost method, this is generally used for new properties when the costs of building is known. In this method, the appraiser estimates the costs involved in replacement of the structure if it were to be destroyed.

It is important to note that you should not depend on an appraisal to help you determine if the home is in satisfactory condition. This is a job for a home inspector. During a real estate appraisal, the appraise may take notes about obvious issues, however they will not test appliances, inspect the chimney or roof.

Breeding goldfish can be a relaxing hobby but is not to be undertaken lightly as it will take time, money and patience. First off, you will need to invest in a large tank which will serve as the goldfish’s home while you are breeding. Make sure you get good quality fixtures for the tank to keep your fish happy and healthy.

The most important task in breeding goldfish is choosing the variety of goldfish you want to breed. As a beginner, it is advisable to choose the small and easy to handle breeds of goldfish, the lionhead, red and white oranda and pearscale. After you have chosen the breed, select a male and female pair.

Be sure to choose a high quality goldfish for your breeding stock. Look at the body shape, color and size, and finnage to determine quality. An ideal male goldfish will show breeding tubercules on its pectoral fins and. While a female goldfish should be heavy but with a soft, slender body.

It’s best to buy two male for one female fish. Try to get younger goldfish if you can as the younger fish produce more fertile eggs and in proper form, making them much better to breed than older ones.

When starting the breeding process, you first need to see to it that the fishes are ready to mate with each other. The first sign is when you see the male goldfish chasing the female around the tank. That is when the courtship will begin. You will also notice the colors of the fish change to a brighter color, this is in order to attract their mate.

Spawning of goldfish eggs usually start early in the morning or late at night. Then after an hour, the male will be able to spray its milts.

Do not change the water at this time, so that the female fish will be fertilized. After a few days, the male fish will become aggressive and will push the female fish around the tank this is when she will eject her eggs. The eggs will automatically stick on the plants of the tanks.

Watch the eggs carefully to look for growth and changes. Once you see that the eggs have already hatched, your work will begin. Remember that the parent goldfish eat their eggs so the need to be separated from the fry. Transfer one or the other to a new tank or container.

You must learn how to feed the fry (small baby goldfish). You need to use teeny particles of food like frozen shrimps, dried flakes, boiled egg yolks and even liquid foods. Make sure to give them food three times a day. Ensure that the food you have given is enough for the fry but not too much or you will effect the water quality in the tank.

If you give proper supplement for the baby fish, they will grow fast. As they grow, these fry must be transferred to a more comfortable tank.

Once they are large enough, transfer them to their new tank home and sit back and enjoy your new finned friends!

Picking the perfect wedding venue is an important part of planning your wedding and one that should not be taken lightly. The venue of the wedding will be a large factor in determining your them and decorations and it should therefore be done carefully. Some things to consider when picking a wedding venue are list below

Trust
First and foremost you want to trust your instincts when picking a wedding venue. It pays to take time and visit as many different venues as possible. Check in your local phone book or on the web and create a list of potential candidates.

Then make arrangements to visit the sites with your fiancée ahead of time. It can help to keep a list of the venues that you visit and jot down a few notes about each one. This will help jog your memory after you have visited 10 or 15 sites it can become difficult to remember each one.

While you are visiting the wedding venue make sure to just spend some time idling looking around. Don’t be rushed by someone who is trying to show off the site. Rather take your time and absorb the surroundings. Imagine your wedding in your mind and see if it fits with the place. Most of all trust your instincts. You will know when you have found a good potential site it will just feel right.

Time
In picking a venue you will want to consider the time of the wedding. Certain venues naturally lend themselves to a certain time of the day and if your wedding does not fit then the site will not work for you. For example if you are planning on having an outdoor wedding in the evening it might not be wise to have it at wide open park.

Rather a smaller garden venue might be more beneficial as heating lamps could easily be added or a tent to keep in some of the warmth. So think about the time that you will be holding the wedding as you visit the wedding venue. If it is possible a second visit to a select group of venues might be best made at the same time that the wedding will take place. This way you can get a better feel for the sights, sound and feel of the site.

Space
You want to carefully consider the amount of space avliable at the wedding venue. Is it large enough to hold your entire wedding party? Or if you are planning to have a smaller intimate wedding you do not want a site that is too large either. So planning ahead based on the size of your wedding you to make sure the size and space at the venue will enhance the wedding and not detract from it.

Restrictions
Check with the person giving you a tour of the site if there are any restrictions. Often there can be restrictions about the amount and type of wedding decorations that can be used and you will want to know this beforehand. Sometimes there can also be restrictions on noise and this is something you will want to know when making your plans.

If you know what the restrictions are but really love the wedding venue it can be fairly easy to adapt the decorations and wedding plan to fit the venue and its restrictions. However you want to know this before hand and not last minute so it can be very helpful to ask early.

Parking
This is something to think about when you visit the venue. Is there enough parking space for everyone who is attending the wedding. Expecting guests to park far away and walk can really be a lot to ask. You want the event to be as easy as possible and ample parking can really help your guests feel welcomed. This is especially those guests that arrive fashionable late to the event.

By visiting potential wedding venue sites before hand you can really learn a lot and then make an informed decision based on your findings. The most important thing to consider is how you feel about the site. Again trust your instinct in this arena and make sure the site is something that speaks to you. It should be a lace that you can easily imagine yourself getting married at.

It’s never to early to start saving for retirement and the more you have the better you can enjoy your golden years! You’ll be amazed at how much money you can accumulate by changing a few things early on. Here’s some tips on what you can do to get a boost in your retirement savings.

Review your insurance. As you age, you may not need the same insurance coverage for life, house and car as you did when you were young. Your life insurance is there to provide income for your family but when the kids are grown and out of the house you might want to evaluate how much your spouse really needs. If you can lower the amount, then you can put the extra savings on premiums into your retirement fund.

The same goes for your home and car insurance, now that you are more financially secure you can probably afford a higher deductible should you need to. Raising your deductible can reduce the annual premiums by 20 percent and this additional money can go into the retirement fund. With any luck you’ll never need to use this insurance anyway!

Make your car last. Resist the urge to get a new car every two years and wait until a couple of years after you have paid off the loan before you trade in. The key is to still make the monthly payment – except you can make it to yourself into your retirement savings account. These days cars are pretty well made so if you take good care of it from the beginning, it should last and be reliable for many years.

Pay off your credit cards. With an average interest rate of 15 percent, running a balance on your credit card is like throwing money down the toilet. Pay off any debt as soon as you can and once you have the balances to zero try not to use the cards. If you have to use them, then make sure to pay the balance in full each month to avoid any new charges. Take the money you used to pay in interest and apply that towards your retirement savings.

Take advantage of new 401K contribution limits and put away the max amount. You might feel a little pinch now, but you will soon get used to it and be thankful when you reach retirement. Take away the temptation of spending money by taking advantage of direct deposits from you paycheck. Also, when you get a raise, instead of buying something new or going out to eat more, why not just apply that towards your retirement?

Many of these tips will allow you to put a bit of extra money away from retirement and not even notice that it is missing. If you are diligent in your savings now and put away money instead of living extravagantly it will pay off in the long run!
